What to expect from Ormesby Hall's 'An Enchanted Winter'

It is no secret that I love Ormesby Hall, it is one of my favourite National Trust properties (I love them all). We have been a few times and we always spot something new every time we go. At Ormesby Hall the staff do a fantastic job of making sure everyone can enjoy the Hall throughout the year, with various activities and dressing the Hall to suit a theme. Summer is my favourite time, but only because you can enjoy the garden in full bloom and it looks spectacular! Read more HERE

On our latest visit the Hall was dressed for Christmas. The entrance just looked so magical with paper snowflakes everywhere and trees along both sides. Some of the rooms were not decorated and some just had the odd festive touch here and there, however they totally made up for this with the rooms that were decorated. There is a nature theme throughout and a lovely trail kids can follow through the house about Patience the Polar bear. (Look out for the origami ornaments!)

One of the things that I have always loved here are the little boxes of books made up that were left in guests rooms to enjoy when they visited.

Outside in the grounds you can find a delightful trail for the kids to enjoy

'Percy The Park Keeper's Winter Trail' We enjoyed it actually and had a laugh doing some of the activities on the boards dotted around. Trails cost £2 and include a hat, trail sheet, pencils, postcard, bookmark and a letter from Percy himself!

Other Festive goodies to enjoy

Enjoy stories told by Mrs Claus by the fire - weekends until 19th Dec

Christmas Baking on Mondays

Nordman Fir Christmas Trees for sale until 19th December starting from £40 with sizes ranging from 4-12ft (the tress are stunning and very full, if we didn't already have one up I would have bought one!) and they have some lovely freshly made wreaths from £12 you can also purchase tree stands from £22

Santa has now sold out, sorry.
