We have been loving all this time together in the kitchen lately. Craig and I love to cook anyway but we have been thinking up ways to get the boys into the kitchen too. We need recipes that all three boys can do and enjoy making and Flapjack is one of those recipes.
I just want to say though, if you do choose to do flapjack with the kiddies please be extra careful because the sugar is like lava.
Ingredients
180g butter
180g golden syrup
180g muscovado sugar
365g porridge oats
Method
Preheat the oven to gas mark 2 and line a baking tray
In a saucepan melt the butter, then add in the golden syrup & sugar mix until the sugar has dissolved (remember lava) Pour over the oats and mix with a spoon.
Pour into your tray, flatten down with a spoon and then pop it into the oven for around 45 minutes. Leave it to cool for at least 20 minutes before you even think about touching it.
You could make a healthier version and add in nuts, fruit and could you could use honey instead of syrup.
