Puffing Billy Returns for 2022 - All Routes & Dates

For parts of the North East, Christmas just isn't Christmas, unless you have seen the awesome Puffing Billy passing through your neighbourhood.

After the festive road train was cancelled last year, due to COVID, it's full steam ahead for 2022. Brought to you by the North East Mobility Warehouse, Puffing Billy is a magical train built as a vintage replica of an original Butlin's road train, that puts a smile on thousands of kids (and adults) faces every year, as it passes through North east towns and villages, raising vital funds for charity. This year the charities are the Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital and East Durham Veterans.

The organisers are always being asked if they can stop at a certain place or what time they will arrive. Here are the answers to those questions...

What time will you be at …….? We are sorry but we can’t answer that as it’s dependent on how many children are at each stop as we greet EVERY child. You can track us via our page and our app. (More details at a later date)

Can you come to/stop at……? It takes months to plan the routes so at this stage unfortunately we can’t change them. We only stop at designated stops, so please keep an eye out for the highlighted areas on each individual route.
