Our bucket list of family friendly beaches in the UK to visit after lockdown.

We have decided to start a bucket list of UK beaches that we want to go to and we are hoping to visit most of these (and more) this year, if restrictions are eased enough to allow so much travelling.

The UK has some impressive coastlines and beaches to explore, no matter what it is you like, whether that's from fossil hunting to building sandcastles there's a beach for everyone.

Some of the beaches below, we visit regularly, but love them so they are on our list, others we have not been to yet and are looking forward to exploring once we are allowed and it's safe to go further.

Seaham Hall Beach - One of our local beaches, perfect if it's seaglass you are looking for.

Uig Sands, Isle of Lewis - Large beautiful beach, surrounded by flower meadows.

Stronsay, Orkney Island - Absolutely beautiful Island with miles of coastland. You can regularly see seals and various Birds.

Woolacombe Bay, North Devon- Perfect for rock pooling and building sandcastles.

Hayle Towans, St Ives - Three miles of golden sand. What's not to love?

Ballycastle, Northern Ireland - Located on the Causeway, this is somewhere we have always wanted to go. so it is high on this bucket list.

Blackpool - So much to do here at Blackpool beach from sandcastles to donkey rides.

Runswick bay, North Yorkshire - One of the best beaches in our opinion for fossil hunting.

North Berwick, Longniddry - One of the beaches we would visit when we lived in Scotland. A very pretty beach.

Whitesands, Pembrokeshire - One of the best surfing beaches in the UK.

Cheswick sands, Northumberland - Our go to summer beach, it is gorgeous.

Whitby, North Yorkshire - We love Whitby and the beach is amazing. Get the kids to hunt for Whitby Jet. Will keep them busy for hours.

Cardigan Bay, Wales - The beaches here are just something else, so we will visit them all! If you can only do one check out Mwnt Beach.

Ainsdale, Merseyside - Regarded in the North West of England as the Best, so we want to see why.

Branchester Beach, Norfolk - Retains the remains of a shipwreck when the tide is out and is just another beautiful golden sand beach in Norfolk.

Earnse bay, Cumbria - Fantastic for windsurfing which is on my ultimate bucket list!

Druridge bay,Northumberland - Druridge bay is just a beautiful beach we love visiting, with miles of beautiful sandy beach and a huge country park and nature reserve to explore.

Camusdarach, Morar - With its glistening sand and clear water this beach just looks idlylic.

Check out our Top 10 beaches within an hours drive of Newcastle

Keep an eye on social media to see if we manage to check these off our list.
