An overdue visit to Grannie Annie's Pub & Pantry Roker

We have been wanting to visit Grannie Annie's for ages and just never gotten around to it, today we finally managed to sample some of the food.

I have seen a few reviews saying that the customer service is rubbish but that couldn't be further from the truth. On the day of our visit the staff were lovely, particularly the woman with the dark hair (sorry I didn't catch your name) she was rushed off her feet.

Located right on the Roker seafront it is ideal for a stop off for a hot drink, or for a main meal. I have heard good things about the Lattes! On the day of our visit we decided to try out the Winter Warmer deal available Monday - Friday which is either a 2 or 3 course meal. 2 course is £8.95 or 3 course for £9.95 they also do a fab deal of Fish & Chips 2 for £15 (They are huge portions too) or 2 steak with all the trimmings plus a bottle of house wine for £22. They also have other options available on the menu and a kids menu that looks fantastic, as well as a Mocktail menu for those who don't drink

I did spot a wine and cocktail menu too but I don't drink so didn't take that much notice.

Before I get into what we ordered, I have to say that the decoration is amazing in here and is definitely me to a tee! The whole place has an amazing eclectic vibe and I absolutely adore the upside down chair with a lamp on it, it is super funky! The boys said the shelving some of the trinkets were on reminded them of the car boot sale. (Not sure if that's a compliment, but just go with it) The music is also great too, with the music history behind the building this is great to hear.

Check out the menus below (subject to change)

Our food

We went for the 3 course offer, and ordered from the Winter Warmers (Not 100% sure when the offer ends)

Starters

5 Potato Skins

Mains

1 Scampi & Chips

3 Steak and Ale pie with chips and peas

1 Apple Crumple ings with chips

Desserts

3 Chocolate fudge cake

1Apple Crumple

1 Jam Roly poly

and a round of large diet cokes

Which came to a grand total of... £63

The food was great especially for the price, the steak pie was full of meat and had plenty of flavour, the pie crust was gorgeous and the chocolate cake was delicious. The boys all said there food was lovely too, although Toby wasn't fan of the Scampi but he is a proper Scampi snob. Elliot said the Mince & Dumpling was really tasty although, not as nice as mine!(I'm blushing) We were all stuffed when we left.
