15 reasons to visit York Maze This Year

We first visited York maze back in July 2019 when we were on holiday in North Yorkshire, York Maze kindly invited us to spend the day with them. We were not sure what to expect because we had never been before and thought it was just a maze. Wow were we wrong! We had one of the best days out that we had had in a long time, the boys absolutely loved the place. Now it is always top on our list of places to visit when we go to North Yorkshire.

*Please note it has been a few years since our last visit so things will have changed. The big maze changes every year*

Keep an eye on the York maze social pages every year for reopening news.

Check out our Reasons why York Maze should be on your to do list this year

The Maize Maze - We left this until after lunch, it was huge! Took us around an hour to complete it (we walked slowly) The theme for that year was The Lion King.

Please note there are various other much smaller mazes to enjoy.

Food - The food was fantastic, lots of options and it only came to around £40 for 5 meals. The corn is delicious too. There are also kiosks where you can get pizza, coffee and drinks. We had a mix of Burgers, kids meals, corn and a variety of drinks.

The Pig Race - The boys thought this was absolutely hilarious, great banter to get everyone in the mood, choose your face paint to support your chosen coloured pig.

The house of cornfusion - The house was the first and last thing we did, so much fun, plays tricks on your mind and will leave you wanting more. I couldn't walk in the tilted room which Elliot thought was Hilarious!

Volcorno - A replica volcano that you can climb to the top of, then bounce back down. Tons of fun, Elliot just bounced his way around the bottom while the other two went right to the top, then rolled back down. Kept them busy for ages.

Corn Snake Tower Slide - This is probably one of the most popular attractions here, lots of kids wanting to go on the slides, three different shaped slides to choose from, grab your sack and then slide back down.

Photo Ops - There are loads of photo ops dotted around for some fun family photos.

Velociraptor - Elliot spotted a velociraptor out for a walk with its keeper...

Giant Mural Paintings - This was a great extra activity for kids especially the younger ones to get creative. Elliot added to it whilst we sat and had a coffee.

Kernoels House party show - What a fantastic show. Elliot belly laughed his way through the show, his shoe ended up centre stage and was placed on the shelf, they picked on Craig to be part of the show which they still talk about today.

Staff - All staff we came across were extremely friendly, polite and very helpful.

Gift Shop - The gift shop is huge, has so many great trinkets and toys to choose from and not bad prices either.

Toilets - Plenty of toilets in different sections, clean enough.

Parking - There is plenty of parking available at this attraction. Well sign posted

Good Value for money - Absolutely! Your ticket lasts all day and the kids will not be bored here. We arrived at 10.15 and left at 6pm. We would have stayed longer if it was open longer.

A fantastic day out for the whole family, memories that will last a lifetime.
