We love a good trail, even more during Autumn. The crisp leaves and the colours are just gorgeous. There's also a smell you get at Autumn too and I just find it so nice.
I have put together this guide of 14 trails to enjoy this Autumn, obviously there's going to be a lot more than 14 so feel free to mention any on the comments for other readers to enjoy. We are going to try and get to as many October events as possible and head out on some lovely walks!

Ford & Etal Scarycrow Trail is back again for 2024! We always have a great day visiting Ford & Etal searching for Scarecrows. 28th October - 3rd November No pre booking needed
Berwick Museum & Art Gallery - Bat Trail is always a super popular event.

Hamsterley Forest - Gruffalo 25th party Trail
We love a visit to Hamsterley forest and even more so The Gruffalo!
The event is on all year
Chopwell Woods - Not a specific trail as such, Chopwell is our go to place when we just want to walk amongst the trees. There's a few different routes you can walk and it is super pretty during Autumn. We usually end up trying to catch fallen leaves.
Pumpkin Forest at The Auckland Palace - A new event for 2024! We are really excited to check this trail out. We have previously been to other events here and they are always fantastic so there's no reason to think that this trail will be any different. Keep an eye out for socials for our visit! 4th-31st October
Kiplin Hall - Crowes Wood Halloween Trail
We absolutely love visiting Kiplin Hall, and the Halloween trail should be on everyone's list! There's also a trail around the lake for those who don't want to do Halloween.
We will be visiting again this year.
Druridge Bay Ghost Trail - Pick up a free trail map and see if you can find the 10 Friendly Ghosts. Once complete you can grab a treat from the café

Alnwick Garden - The Autumn Pumpkin Garden
Pumpkins have been scattered around the garden for you to find, you can also expect to find some fab selfie opportunities!

The Plotters Forest Halloween Trail
The Plotters forest is always a popular choice for our younger families.

Thorp Perrow - Halloween Trail
We always enjoy visiting Thorp Perrow and the trails are always fantastic.

Discovery Museums Spooky museum trail -
The Museums spooky spiders have been weaving webs on some of the artefacts! Find the objects, collect the letters and you may be in for a treat! 50p charge for the sheet.
